Pushing the boundaries of alternative heavy music, Tel Aviv powerhouse Walkways share their heartfelt and bare emotions by way of a relentless energy which weaves through intrinsic dynamics, guarded by a close-knit brotherhood collective to bring together a powerful emotional musical entity that has reached every corner of the globe.
The band write and create in order to unload, to heal, to enact change, and to make a difference within themselves and others. Walkways is the group’s antidote to the harsh realities of living in Israel and the Middle East, an oasis for sanity and humanity, the band’s avenue to ensure the past is not their future. We each pick our own paths. Our Walkways.
Walkways' incredible sophomore album Bleed Out, Heal Out, released on German record label Nuclear Blast in 2019, elevated the band’s profile to another level, spreading their unique brand of heavy music to an international stage. The record put on full display everything that makes Walkways special; ferocious riffs and screams, epic melodies and anthems, and fragile softer moments equally as profound. The album was self produced, with mixing duties handled by drummer Priel Horesh, and mastering by Ermin Hamidovich (Periphery, Devin Townsend).
Vocalist Ran Yerushalmi and guitarist Bar Caspi formed Walkways in 2006, the evolution of a strong songwriting bond which shaped their younger years. The duo were soon joined by guitarist Yoni Menner, where a more concrete sound took form. With the addition of formidable rhythm section Avihai Levy (bass) and Priel Horesh (drums) in 2010, together with their highly praised independent debut album Safe In Sound in 2013, Walkways became an unstoppable force rising to the top of the Israeli metal scene, attracting interest from around the world.
Walkways have toured Europe and the UK on multiple occasions, including impressing recently with Australia’s Ne Obliviscaris in 2024. The group have been hand-picked as direct support for world renowned acts such as Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, In Flames, Devin Townsend, Jinjer, Memphis May Fire, and The Omnific. Notable European festival appearances include Wacken Open Air (Germany - 3rd performance in 2024), Reeperbahn (Germany), ArtMania (Romania), and Tbilisi Jam Fest (Georgia).
